You buy the Motordyne HFC module:

And buy the Motordyne XYZ pipe:

The module connects to the end of the xyz pipe via a v-band clamp. So now you have an HFC for emissions and smell, and can run ART pipes or other test pipes at the same time.

Everything can be found here : http://www.motordyneengineering.com/...945076d2e5d85b
Or you can buy them together as a kit.

With intake and exhaust systems, its not just about simple static flow, its also about acoustic resonance tuning. There are resonances that can be utilized to increase the effective pulse flow rate.

You always have to deal with the risk of running a test pipe on some areaas as well, just make sure you're being careful with local emission laws. I have a buddy that puts Cat shell's around test pipes lol.

I have on a set of Helix HFC that I bought from a guy who totaled his 06 350z and it does have a little bit of smell to it due to the previous owner who gutted the passenger side hfc, if I can I would trade in my Helix for some Berks, but for performance wise I like the little power bump of the hfc over stock and the growl is much better too. Soo far no CEL/SES light. I have two non fouler on each side. Price wise I bought the Helix for $200 great condition and no cracks, including the new Non-fouler+his 350z O2 sensors which has 53K miles on it.

I like Berks HFC>Helix HFC

I have the Berk HFCs and got a Osiris tune the same day. UpRev mentioned that in some cases, the Berk HFCs may cause your CEL light to come on (prevent you passing emissions test). They couldn't guarantee that the CEL light wouldn't come on. Mine didn't and has never come on since installation. I passed emissions with no issues in Austin, TX.

I have also a issu with my Magnaflow HFC-s. First I ordered wrong ones. I have California spec car and ordered 49 state version, my mistake I did not start to send them back. The flanges are different and 49 stete flanges do not fit to california version. Because i Live in ESTONIA, EU. I decided to at local muffler shop to use OEM flanges from old cat. conv. But the exhaust gases come inside the car. I have been checked several times and no visible leak nowhere. I do not understand.

I currently have Borla Catback with ART pipes. I personally love the smell they give off! I do experience some weird raspy noise when accelerating at high rpms. But casually driving between 2800- 3400 RPMS sounds beautiful I always try to keep shifting in those areas.

I personally do not like the noise when decelerating it sounds like a freakin rattle snake. That's the only downfall about the ART pipes when passing cars it sounds so weird.
