Advice and opinions on my future exhaust.

I currently have a muffler delete and a 350z resonator on an 04X. I know that thats an unorthodox setup as it is but next what i want to do is replace my cats with Megan V2 Test pipes, replace my Y with a M2 HR, and put one of these somewhere in the exhaust...http://www.jegs.com/i/Magnaflow/642/54956/10002/-1...

Any advice on how rasp would be? Also does it matter where the new Cat is located in terms of how close it needs to be towords the headers?

A while ago we used to have this saying when we noticed things not going well and this call for a reinactment:

"Your doing it wrong!"

Sorry that seemed befitting what you're trying to do, which I still don't understand. Rather that adding this and deleting that and then adding more useless crap....stop! If you're looking for a great sound and considerably more HP junk what you've got and buy one of MotorDynes systems. Tony has spent weeks on the dyno perfecting his system for sound and gains. Had you inquired or done a SEARCH involving exhaust systems it's possible you wouldn't have wasted all that $$ on your current system.

I figured 1 cat would be less restrictive than 2 and with testpipes i would get less of that smell and still get the sound with some of the power benefits.

My current exhaust system is a muffler delete and 350z mid... i apologize if its somehow my fault that i cant afford a motordyne sytem and im defenitly trying to do something different... If what i described sounds awful then thats that and i would love some advice other than thats wrong and buy this whole system instead. But dont tell me to search cause i have and the exhaust i was going for is something noone else has done so theres nothing to search for... I can understand if the magnaflow cat is junk but i dont understand how The megan TPs or an HR y pipe is.

Alex, it sounds like you are trying to build a MD XYZ pipe, with the cat accessory. I know they are a bit pricey, but add it up. It may not be as bad as you think compared to building your own (if you consider your time as well). Certainly it's more convenient then building one, but I can dig it if you just want to build it yourself.

Cheers.

I totally missed that you had an X, sorry. Well then, build one! I think the X community would love it. Have you talked to Tony at MD? Maybe he can give you some advice or pointers to get what you want. Good luck.
