Test pipe people, How do you pass emmisions?

Hey all,

So i have started to nest egg my money for mods in the spring. I want to work on the exhaust of my G and the best place to start is HFC/ART/Test Pipes of course.

So how do you guys with test pipes pass emmisions?? My only gripe is(this is from me SEARCHING first btw) that if i go test pipes ill need to get a tune for them, then another tune after i take them off? Once i year emmisions needs to be done so in order to not run lean etc, ill need to remove the pipes and put the stock cats back on. Then get a tune or...?

Is this what you guys do to pass emmisions?

Pay someone to lie or swap your cats back on for the test

I know someone who ran test pipes without a tune. He did fine.

Pay someone to pass your emissions.

What state are you in? In Tennessee they just hook up the obd2 scanner to check for any thrown codes, they also check the gas cap, and last they TRY to look under the car for cats. But since my car is slammed they cant really see much. i made my own o2 spacer using 4 spark plug anti foulers (2per side) but then i took them off because they hang too low. So since i did that now i get a check engine for o2's. All i do to pass is disconnect the battery for like 30mins, drive it around for 30miles so that the ecu can be "ready" to get tested. After I've done the above, i just take it to the emissions and pass with flying colors every time. Hope this helps
Johnny.

So I can pass smog with my car having to come from Hawaii and now residing in Cali as long as I don’t throw any codes? Car is still registered in Hawaii until March of this year.

I thought those road smog checks were completely voluntary? Just say no if that's the case.

^ I heard about those smog checkpoints on EvoEmpire. Apparently, some were being set up from far North Bay and making it's way down the bay. Some evo was stopped at a checkpoint, but after he told them he was AWD and wasn't able to be put on the roller, they let him go.

Lucky him.
