Greddy EVO on Sedan

Alright, I finally broke down and ordered the EVO last week (even though everybody was saying how it looked like a ricer and blah blah blah!). When I got home last night...Surprise. It was sitting by my front door. I tell you, the thing weighs at least 50 or 60 pounds less than the stock. Took about 1 hour to install. Hardest thing was to get the stock exhaust off the rubber mounts. Then, getting a hold of the presilencer that weighed about 50 pounds, while you are under the car. BTW, I lifted the front with the rhino ramps, then used a jack on the differential housing to lift the rear. Used jack stands for safety.
The car sounds awsome. The note is low and just a little louder than stock. No ricer sound here(I was really worried about this as the wife would definitely not approve). Thee only problem is that there is a slight clearance problem with the chasis mounting bolt by the exhaust piping. I had to cut off about 1/4" from this bolt. No biggie as there is plenty of this bolt available to cut. Used a sawzall. Other than that, the system fits great.
As far as looks, my wife said she liked it and that's a big thing. If she likes it it's good. BTW, looks much better when it's clean. Not like the posted picture where the guy lives in Hawaii and it looked brown from all the clay.
This pic shows the clearance problem.

If you like it, I wouldn't worry to much about what others think.

Although my personal opinion is that the coffee can look (although really popular for the last 8 years or so) is losing its appeal. The new trend seems to dual exhaust with smaller tips or the single exhaust with dual tips.

But like I said, if you like it, thats all that counts... And i'm sure you'll find lots of others on here who like it also...

Yeah, I replaced the presilencer and the muffler. This, I believe, is the only cat back system for the sedan at the present moment. Everything else is a rear section. Basically just a muffler.

I agree with Dan. I'm waiting for something that looks like the '04 Maxima's exhaust for the G35 Sedan.

Re: Greddy EVO on Sedan

surprised that something as expensive and as well known as Greddy didn't utilize piping The pipe should be a single piece mandrel w/ no welds to breakup the smoothness of the flow. Either way, the rear muffler/tip looks great.

Re: Greddy EVO on Sedan

Do you anticipate any problems with registration/smog or does the exhaust have a CARB exemption #? (California example).

How is the sound on the freeway during a long drive?

Re: Greddy EVO on Sedan

No problems with smog on an aftermarket exhaust. It doesn't change the cats. Sound is great, not annoying like a civic or something with a 4-cilynder. When you step on it it sounds awsome. I took it out last night on the backroads and had a blast! I'm getting to like the manumatic transmission. You just have to play with it and figure out where you need to be with it.
It seems a more responsive, but, after $500 the butt dyno wants to feel this so I am not sure.

Re: Greddy EVO on Sedan

That brings up a couple of good points:
1. Does anyone have dyno info on the Greddy (or any other) exhaust?
2. Where did you get it for $500?

It looks great BTW.
