Talking Best headers on a budget? Top speed?

Hey, I have a 03 G35 Sedan 5AT. I currently have a borla cat back and will be installing Fast Intentions HFCs soon. I have had the HFCs made with 2.25" piping to match the cat back.

I will be getting a tune shortly after installing the headers + HFCs

Anyways now that Ive given the setup, what would be the best headers? I have seen many great reviews for Top Speed headers, does anyone have any experience with them?

Also, will any headers that fit the 03-07 350z/G35 coupe fit the 03 sedan

Thanks for any help

03' track... Soon to be race car.
yes the will all fit the sedan. Topspeed is a decent brand on a budget, they are the exact same design as dc and strup. a few other brands that are almost the same and might even be cheaper...z1 motorsports, jvt, and bee line(i found them on ebay and they actually have a website)

i do recomend having them ceramic coated tho....they are all stainless steel and uncoated, wich means they will put a lot of heat into your engine bay. excess heat = bad

What about a Jethot spray? Or header wrapping?

jethot spray is ceramic coating....and some of the best on the market. As far as wrapping goes, it works pretty well.....but looks jank, i dont condone this. but the key word is it DOES work.

The best budget header is by far the stock HR header. Its equal length, tubular, and made to last a very long time.

yes the HR headers are basickly the same design as the dc and strup headers....nissan finally got wise. The ONLY problem with running a set of HR headers is the fact that you have to run HR cats, hfc's, or test pipes. They will not qwork with the De stock cats, hafc's, or test pipes because the flange between the header and cat is different. Other than that i agree. Thats the reason that i tell most of the newer Z and G guys that i know that they dont need to buy aftermarket headers....thiers are good enough.

From what I've read, if you're already getting HFC's, an exhaust and a tune, headers will not net you any appreciable additional benefit AND are a PITA to install. I would recommend you skip them altogether and put the $$ into other mods, like sway bars. Also, is your G a 2003.5 or an early 2003.0 (doggy door) car? The early cars have a different ECU that's all but untunable.

Really? I thought that is the only setup where headers really justify the cost, because unless youve changed the Cats and the Exhaust, the headers are not the weakest link, and if you were to get more freely flowing headers on a stock exhaust, you would just be getting the exhaust to the choking points faster.

If you don't know, then you probably don't have one, which means you have the newer ECU and are okay to tune. The middle of your trunk will look like this: (only probably not green)

It's 2003. Yours is 2003.5, so you're fine. And like I said, IMO only do the headers if you want to go to the trouble and expense to extract the last 1% of performance out of your tune.
