Magnaflow Crossover + HKS Exhaust....?

Locating a Magnaflow crossover for my HKS system for two reasons, (1) It's a better crossover than the t-crossover/mixer that what came with my HKS system. (2) Possible restriction in the HKS exhaust due to poor quality work. What I ordered was their crossover #10791, has anyone else used this? This crossover should make my HKS/BERK'S system sound better/different....we'll see!

It should help torque and sound. Not sure if it will be any quieter as you opted for the non-resonated X pipe.

For clarification, most use X pipe and H pipes for the different types of exhaust balance tubes.

If you want reviews on how the X pipes does on the HKS system, look up the my350z guys. they have done this numerous times on their Zs.

Most have done it to reduce the RASP they get from TP

RedG....what did you pay to have the crossover installed and how difficult was it?
I can buy the Magnaflow crossover for $83 on line. Called my muffler guy he wants $124 for the crossover and over $100 to install and he acts like he's giving me a f^cking deal. I'm like, I'll get back to ya! I may have to find a new guy for the install, feel like I'm getting screwed!

That was the same price also quoted to me. Would you say it added a deeper tone or just took away the drone and rasp?

It did both. I now have a rasp free exhaust and it made the sound deeper. I'm going to switch out the test pipes for ART pipes when I move back to DC in May. Hopefully decreases more of the drone. The Magnaflow did reduce the drone alot but there is still some around the 15-25k range.

Final Result!

I did go to my muffler guy and paid his asking price only because he's the best, installing the Magnflow crossover wasn't an easy task done right. We did find the 1.5" restriction in my HKS exhaust so I'm off them for life mostly because of their "Just send it back" with a receipt attitude and they weren't surprised.

I love the high pitched sound around 3K RPMs, my normal shifting point for average street commute. Not loud, at freeway speed you don't hear the exhaust at all. I have zero rasp along with no hiss like some member have experienced....thank GOD!

Is the one you got similar to this one http://www.performancepeddler.com/de...T_ID=MAG11386? That is the one that seems to be generally used for x02's, just wondering why yours was a different one.
