From what I see there is a $60 difference between the two with the straight pipe.

Hmmm, the site's a little wacky. They also have XYZ pipes listed under exhaust components. Best to just ask Tony.

Sorry about that guys. There was a price drop that wasn't applied to the G35 section.

I'm working to have it fixed ASAP.

Thanks for the good info, guys! I've been searching for a thread like this for this product.

Would I see gains with an XYZ with the stock exhaust?

That particular setup hasn't been dyno tested.

I've been reading endless threads about people's experience with the XYZ, but there is one question I haven't found an answer for:

What is the sound difference between the resonator attachment and the striaght pipe attachment. I'm looking to amplify the OEM sound, but I don't want my ears to get anihilated inside the car.

From what I gather, the resonator is louder than the straight pipe so what I'm looking for is probably closer to the straight pipe?

Thanks

I would imagine gains on the G35 with the XYZ would be similar to the 350z with the XYZ.

Just looking at the basics, proper mandrel bends, smooth merge/collector and tuned merge distance, it's gotta be a win. Feels great on my 350.

The resonator should be the quietest option (still recording the test between the HFC and the res)

The stock y-pipe has nothing to keep it quiet, except the restrictive design, so if you're keeping the rest of the exhaust the same, i'd say you just want the straight pipe.
