Need to quiet the sedan--help

We have an 03 turbo G35 sedan with a turbo-back borla system on it and it is waaay too loud and raspy for city driving. Interstate speeds are fine but I hate the loudness in town, reminds me of a civic. Is there a decently cheap way to quiet it down? Add in a resonater or something perhaps? Or would I be better off switching out the muffler to a differant type?

a resonator would be the cheapest way about doing it. or maybe switch to Tanabe, they're known for quiet exhausts

Will it actually quiet it doen though? I dont want to hurt the power a bunch either. I dont want to switch to an entire new exhaust, Ive spent enough money lately haha. If I were to, Id bolt on the HKS high power exhaust like I have on mine, I love how it sounds!!

Is your exhaust a true dual? If so, slap an x-pipe in there and you'll be happy.

I agree that adding a resonator will quiet it down quit a bit. You would want to go with at least an 18in. I personally would through the x-pipe on there if you have duals. That will quiet it down without sacrificing power. If its not quiet enough then go with the resonator.

Another option would be to run another muffler if you get something thats straight through you'll get tge decrease in sound with minimal power loss. I've seen 2 muffler setups on other vehicles, they're normally a little deeper.

Are you running OEM Cats? If not then putting your OEM cats on will quiet things down a lot.

OEM cats will sacrifice power. If you're running test pipes you could change to ART pipes. You'll gain power and quiet the sound.

^True but he's not gonna want to spend the money on ART pipes. Putting OEM cats on will get rid of the rasp.

Good point on the cost. Its worth it though. I would still try x pipes first. No harm with those and they're not expensive.

^For sure MD ART pipes are sick. If I wasn't so low I'd be running them, I just don't want to mess them up.
