are stock 04 sedan and 06 sedan mufflers interchangeable ?
my buddy is selling his 06 G35 sedan he has FI HFC's, and the newer style HR OEM Y pipe and he has the stock 06 muffler and stock 06 midpipe.
My 04 G35x sedan only has a coupe midpipe. I want to run his 06 muffler and his newer HR Y pipe. Also I would put my stock 04 midpipe and stock 04 muffler on his 06 to quieten it down some since he has FI HFC's.
Any problems with all that ?
I just want my 04 to sound like this car below would the HR Y pipe change the sound - worth any extra power to use it ???

The 04 muffler is smaller than the 06 muffler so dont give him ur 04 muffler if he wants to quiet the car down. You have to swap the muffler and the brackets also to make it work.
If u have AWD your Ypipe is already in the shape of the HR pipe. G35X ypipes are shaded to go around the tranfer case. I believe its slightly different than a HR pipe though.
Why dont u just get his cats also

OK yeah I noticed my Y pipe is similar to the HR design.
When I looked at swapping the mufflers I noticed the brackets looked different so I didn't think it was do-able.
So if I get his 05 brackets his 05 muffler will bolt up on my 04 ? I don't want my car to be loud I'm chasing a certain exhaust sound (basically a stock 05 with coupe midpipe) plus the tips on the 05-06 look better (stick out more) than the tucked 03-04 tips.
I want my car to sound like this...
I got his FI cats off he's selling them for $300 if anyone is intersted. Not a hard swap to do.
