Replacement exhaust:What should I get

i've been out of the mod game for a few years...looking to replace my current exhaust setup with something less noisy and raspy w/o losing power...i currently have the kinetix cats, and fujitsubo exhaust...my biggest concern would be to pass socal smog test and get the car register since i recently moved from MD....what do you guys suggest...

You're going to have to get cats with a higher cell rating. No other way to pass SMOG.

If you can register the car in another state, resonators welded into your fujitsubo would quiet it down.

Extremely easy solution, if you were smart and kept your OE cats reinstall them when registering your Infiniti here in CA.!

If you're only looking to pass for a once a year test, the easiest thing to do is get a universal cat, weld flanges on either side, cut a section of your exhaust, weld flanges to those as well. This way you can put the cat on easily, then drop it and put the pipe back in once your done with the test. If they actually get up under your car, that may be a different story.

Your Kinetix cats I believe are 100 cell count which would be impossible to pass in Socal...

You might get lucky with Fast Intentions HiFlow cats, those are 300 cells and I think I did see some people mention they passed smog test with those on in socal.

But again like everyone else said, its better if you kept or maybe purchased a set of stock cats when the time comes....or maybe you can find some shop that will help you pass....

i just switched from Kinetix to FI resonated HFCs and couldn't be more happy. def cuts down on "noise" w/o sacrificing performance. I passed SMOG w/both, i only had to upgrade because i had a coil-pack go bad and was dumping fuel into the cats for too long.

^ again you havent shown any proof that Kinetix are 300 cell...sucks that you owned parts and didn't actually know what the specs are on them...

I on the other hand can provide you proof that you are wrong:

http://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-coup...netix-hfc.html
"Kinetix HFCs are SS shell, ceramic core, 200 cell count with a lifetime warranty. "
"I have the Kinetix HFCs since September and I love them, great quality and great price, and cell count is better than FI. "

And to further read up on HFCs...
https://g35driver.com/forums/intake-...t-hfc-g35.html

Kinetix are definitely the worst HFCs out there for the Gs...have read nothing but negative things about the build quality..

It would be between Berks and FI....and I personally would pick Berk because they are cheaper and lower cell count at 200 vs 300 for FI...and theyre cheaper than FI...

hahahahhahahahahahahhahaha, yes the HR cats are 250 cell. the DE are 300, i don't need to post anything. just search Kinetix 300 cell. also i spoke to Kinetix before i purchased them a couple of years ago and they confirmed 300 cell, it really sucks that you think your forum recollection trumps my real life experience. just nod ur head and say, "yes Daddy"
