Heat soak my azz
#16
As a stated in first post-this thread is not about benefits or not of intakes. I just think that heat soak issue is exaggerated.

First off, you're willing to pay money to loose HP? Not to sound like a jerk, but you've posted nothing new here. Your finding were uncovered back as early as 2003.
Believe what you want to and it's your car, but let's not confuse other people into believing intakes do something for the these cars other than make noise and potentially loose power in warmer ambient temps. You titled this thread "Heat soak my azz" but the data you posted shows exactly what you're implying isn't happening. The aftermarket intake is most definitely heat soaking and also sucking in heated under hood air.
I datalog too. I can yank the Powerduct cover and over radiator snorkel from the OEM airbox and get 80% of the POP charger sound and all of the negative side effects.
