04 Coupe w/ injen CAI help!

Hey guys, I bought a 04 coupe in December, it already had an injen intake installed when
I bought it. Not too sure what model it is or anything but it runs all the way down into the bottom of the front bumper and the filter can be seen through the vent. I bought the car from a woman so I doubt the filte has been cleaned since it was installed, I'm wondering if it is safe to leave it in this location or not? I live in Canada and drive it year round.

Thanks in advance

You will definitely need to be cautious when driving through puddles, but as long as you don't speed through 5-7" of water you should be fine. You lowered?

EDIT: Was just looking at my old Injen CAI, the filter will install on the end of the first piece of piping essentially bringing the filter into the engine bay. I believe it would fit like that in the car but never tried this when it was installed. Thats an option if your in a rainy season.

Okay thanks for the reply. It will be quite rainy soon so I was just kind of worried. I will remove the bumper soon put a new filter on and see if it is possible to install it to the first peice!

+1 I did that to mine. I moved the filter up to the first piece and kept it inside the engine bay. I don't think you're gaining THAT much more power by leaving it down there. It was just a pain to have to removing the fender liner and half the bumper just to replace/clean the filter every time.

Thnx garagelife, yeah it's a very inconvenient location having it down there. I'm scared to see what it looks like :/
