OEM G37 vs 3" OEM G35 style exhausts...feedback.

Hey guys...need some feedback here for a little project. I have an ingen exhaust currently and want to swap set ups to quiet down the car a bit.

The set ups im looking at are an OEM G37 exhaust with an hr style megan y-pipe. tubing is 2.25" from back of y-pipe into the muffler. I require a G37 rear sway bar to allow the exhaust to clear. Parts are not hard to come by. Otherwise everything else is bolt up.

The other option is to get a 2.75" or 3" mid pipe and fabricate a new muffler inlet at 2.75" or 3" and go with a single pipe setup from the same megan y-pipe. OEM G35 but with bigger piping. Other mods are CAI,plenum, cams, headers and hfc's.....the ingen is 2.5" through. Think either of the two setups will restrict air flow too much, i am willing to compromise a little restricition and power loss to quiet the car.

Any feedback is appreciated.

Do you have pic of the injen exhaust?

Can't you just remove your resonators and add some magnaflow resonators or resonated x pipe to it?

I think it would be cheaper and easier to do that if possible.

i replaced the 2 h-pipe resonators with glass packed mufflers and put two more in the mid pipes plus the two at the end......reason im wondering is cuz after reading tony's write ups i mite be increasing the back pressure with 2.25 piping. the ingen 2.5 all the way thru..on the car so kind of hard to take a pic of it.

change the h-pipe to a magnaflow resonated x and change the other glasspacks to 2.5 magnaflow resonators.

Here are some pics of my set-up. I'm changing the 2 mufflers from the 12in hushpowers to the 18in ones.
