Hmmmm....sounds very familiar to what I went through. Does the oil smell like gasoline?

If you want my honest opinion, take all your mods, go back to stock tune and take it to Infiniti to start oil consumption tests. For the love of God, stop changing your oil at 5k intervals and do 3k.

yeahh the oil smells like hardcore gasoline..

and yeah ima start putting stuff back to stock this weekend..

also, why change at 3 when all my other cars never had an issue with amsoil full synth being changed at 5k? i mean it really depends on how the oil is when i'm changing it right?

4-5k intervals are fine with full synthetic... FI guys change their oil at 2-3k since they share their motor oil with the turbo/SC. I really don't think that's necessary for a NA car, unless you regularly trash your car or are just **** about it.

^Its just the air passing through the piping. I noticed this too when I had HFC's on.

hey guys just a quick update. Finally got to bring my car back in after about 2000 miles. It went down 33mm.. which dan ( service advisor) said is an alarming rate. He said I would have failed even if i brought it in at 1000 miles. So he's working on getting a new block for me. He'll try to get me a longblock, if not a shortblock. Not sure if i wanna keep the car after i get the engine back, this car has had so many problems.

Another question. Since my car is Osiris tuned, i'd have to get it retuned after I get a new engine in there, correct? Would you guys tune it AFTER the initial break in period of the engine? or ??

Thanks alot guys! This has been a stressful process with having to take off my mods blah blah blah but glad i'm at least getting it handled.

New engine? yeah, i'd keep the car, very worth it.

As for tuning, correct, don't get it tuned until after it's broken in. It will get faster as it frees up and it will bed it's self in. Dyno'ing cars is very stressful on the engines, not a great idea if you ask me until it's run in.

I got charged only the price of an oil change. Which I got a fatty discount on (23$). Since my car is still under warranty. Idunnos if they'd charge you normally if you're out of warranty :/

There isn't really any reason not to install during the break in, just not tuned until after.

Worry not!!

This has nothing to do with ART pipes, or anything else. The reason why the engine problem was identified at all, was *because* of the ART pipes

Basically, the smoke that became apparent after the install, was there before. However, the cats used to burn it off, so it wasn't so noticeable, without the cats, it showed up easily.

Go forth and order the greatest test pipes known to man!
