Just got art pipe and tune....smoke during start

I just got my art pipe and Osiris tune. Just noticed when I start from a dead stop that smoke is coming out of my exhaust tips. It's a good amount of smoke. Is that normal?

I had test pipes (ART) for 500 miles on my car and it started consuming oil a quart every 400 miles. I experienced exactly what you described above before removing the pipes. Keep an eye on your oil level.

How many miles on your test pipes? Some burn off is to be expected during break in.

Didn't you say you had oil in your valve covers? Oil consumption perhaps.

It will smoke for the first 1000 miles. When I first put mine on it smoked more because my engine was consuming oil. Had my engine replaced and just put them back on 2 weeks ago, no smoke and no oil consumption. (crosses fingers)

Edit
Just saw you got them used, how many miles on them?

^I would have it tested. I would also convert everything back to stock just to be safe.

just curious...how long were you running your mods prior to getting the Uprev tune?? possible engine issues prior to getting the tune -- air/fuel mix was prolly lean...

...hope the issue is something minor. G/L with everything....

hmm.. the spacer since the car had like 5000 miles and z tube/intake around the same time from original owner. exhaust components at 50k? and tune and art at 72k. and its been running lean since exhaust..so at least for more than 20k its been running lean. i'm pretty sure it was consuming oil before but art pipes and correct afr made it 10x worse..

So I put in 2 qts yesterday and thought it was enough. Didn't drive the car at all yesterday. Started it up this morning an it was still smoking like crazy went to check the oil and it was pitch black and still didn't look like it had enough. Went and bought and extra qrt of oil and now its stopped smoking....

2 questions:
It smokes like crazy since the engine is dying for oil?
And would oil consumption turn my oil pitch black? Cause it's been super black the last 3 oil changes all changed before 5k intervals
