I have the Topspeed Pro-1.

It definitely has the worst drone of any exhaust i've heard. I've ridden in plenty of cars with plenty of different exhausts. A lot of them were louder but NONE droned nearly as bad as the Topspeed.

But I've gotten used to it, and once you get used to it, I think the Topspeed is one of the best sounding exhausts. Under 3k RPM the Topspeed is probably one of the deepest sounding exhausts, but once you pass 3K, it completely changes tone.

I don't have a good video of my exhaust yet but here's a video of my friend driving my car for me while I shot.

It's a Topspeed Pro-1 (old style) with MR Y-Pipe.

I don't think i'd go with an Injen for the same price as an MD or FI.

Er, ARK do not seem to have a great name, particularly if you don't like drone.

I know what you mean about wheels, but in my case, the stock wheels aren't bad, the exhaust is. I can always save for wheels later, i have to listen to my exhaust every day.

Ark is a good name brand exhaust. Decent sound. You may have clearance issues if you're dropped. It also has drone....MD is the ONLY exhaust with zero drone as advertised. Worth every penny

I'd read of some fitment and drone issues on the ARK, that's all, i have heard it and it's not a bad sound at all.

I have read several people comment the MD is completely drone/hiss free, which is good, having had drone, i'll pay good money to not have it :/

true madmaxx. that the way I was thinking... just powder coat them temporarily and im good for me the exhaust is the most expensive right now. Now i wont be buying an exhaust for a lil while but would I be better getting a new or used one?

My ARK grip v2 has ZERO drone at highway cruising speeds, and verrrrry little drone just driving around town.... I think its one of the best sounding exhausts for our car personally. Very deep.

But fitment is sh.t you will have problems clearing the back axle pumpkins and it will drive you crazy and **** you off as it has done to me.... Nothing worst than driving around with your axle spinning all over your exhaust flange, sounding like a helicopter and destroying your exhaust. save yourself the trouble.... Ive been to the shop 2 times so far

Also yes, About the hiss. My exhaust does hiss when i rev-match downshift. ive checked every flange and it is tight, so i dunno which gasket it is...

overall what will get me the most performance gains, medium/high sound?
ive read on some nismo s-tune combinations with HFC's and Y-pipes. should i go with a combination or a sinlge brand exhaust?

High sound will come from all the best performers.

Nismo S-tune is still a multichambered design, it's not high performance, but it is better than stock. It's also almost as quiet as stock.

Single brand will usually mean you'll get a nice matched system. Test pipes will give you best performance.

With that said, Motordyne ART pipes will give you better than test pipe performance and i haven't seen anyone put the research/design into making the power like their XYZ pipe does.

Based on that and some other factors, i chose the ART pipes and the Shockwave TDX2 cat back (which includes the XYZ pipe)

I've heard some ppl say the ark fits fine and others talk about it hitting the axle, is this the difference between v1 and v2? If I'm stock height should I be ok with the v2 as far as fitment?

I understand the latest Ark systems have had their fitting issues sorted out, so don't worry about that.

The only thing that puts me off is they do have some drone.

I have a HKS rep with magnaflow xpipe so no drone or rasp, also had pipes heated up and bent so fits perfect by a muffler ship that I'd sell for ~$300 depending on how much shipping is. That would save you lots of money for other mods.
