Exhaust sound level question
First let me say I am not interested in modding for hp gains or even doing any other mods performance mods. I just want a exhaust more for looks than anything else. The problem is, i don't want a loud *** exhaust. Which brings me to this:
Im looking at the megan OE RS exhaust(without the y pipe), is it much louder from stock? I have seached and havent found an answer, and all the sounds clips Ive listened to were of cars that had multiple mods so it was impossible to tell how JUST the exhaust made the car sound.
Input from someone who has had this exhaust would be really helpful!

Well I DO want the exhaust to be slightly louder, but not too loud. I know sound level is relative and all and I wish there was a way to know what my preferred dB level is, lol, but I dont have a way of knowing that. The last thing I want is a loud car that drones badly.
Basically it comes down to this, do axle back exhaust on g35's make our cars significantly louder, or just a little bit louder, given everything else is stock?

I'm not familiar with the Megan exhaust, but it looks very similar to the Tanabe Medalion exhaust which I do have.
The tone is noticeably diff from oem but not loud at all.
It's a deeper tone but very mellow, until I put the HFCs on.

Gotcha, the axle back is the only part of the exhaust I plan to do, I just want the car to sounds a little meaner is all. Ill probably end up getting it and will post a clip when I do, as it seems not a lot of ppl have it aparrently.

I think you should take a look at Tanabe Medallion Exhaust. I heard they are pretty quite and look good aswell. Only 93db. Also Borla is pretty quite at idle and low rpms until you hit it.

i had a nismo s tune cat back on my z and before high flow cats or test pipes it was pretty quiet..def. a nice exhaust id recommend...id recommend the nismo or invidia gemini..i also have heard the fuji is on the quiet side
Currently I have the Borla Cat-Back on my coupe. Standing behind the car at an idle you legitimately almost can't hear it. It does take away some of the classic VQ sound tho, but cruising around a 2 - 2.5k there is no drone unless your going up a hill and your on the pedal hard. That being said I find it too quite and have been looking for ways to liven it up.
Do you have any other pics of the exhaust on your car or any sound clips
