Drone from pipe touching?

Can drone be caused by a pipe touching the mid frame of the car?

I have the TDX V2 and as I was installing the exhaust, one of the g35 pipe extension for this exhaust is touching the M like mid frame underneath the car. I believe its the under body air diffuser.

I was reading up on drone and I read that if a pipe is touching something, it can cause drone?

I dont know how accurate that is bc I would think that would just cause unwanted vibrations.

Yes, I have got replies stating that I should put some miles on my TDX V2 and the sound (drone) should change.

Im just very curious bc the exhaust claims no drone at all and other users dont have drone.

i dont think its gonna cause drone but it should cause an annoying rattle..just do some adjusting so it is correct, you dont want it banging around and getting damaged, that would be my concern

Yeah i didnt think so.

The pipe is pushed against it. Its pretty tight after I tried moving it with my hand with everything torqued down.

I would of thought it would have some play but not at all. I already did like 50-80 miles with the car and nothing is rattling or banging.

But yeah, it would be a smart thing to do.

Just gotta figure this drone noise I have going with the MD TDX V2 exhaust.

Drone deals with the frequency of the sound within the piping, I don't think its possible for anything around the exhaust to effect that.

Any HFC's, test pipes, cats? If you plan on keeping the exhaust, welding in additional resonators may help.

I have the MD ART pipes mated with the full MD TDX V2 exhaust. Apparently this exhaust is suppose to be droneless LOL.

I've had my exhaust touching the frame of the car before and you'd be surprised the amount of noise it can introduce in the cabin. I'd try to get that fixed. Or wedge something in-between the pipe and frame as a temporary fix.

I bet this is causing your noise.
