Hello I have been looking into getting an electronic cutout exhaust because I love loud cars, but have days where I just want to relax and have that nice G sound. Iv'e looked into these and think it is the way to go. I currently have stock exhaust pipes with a flowmaster 80 series muffler on my '07 G35 coupe.
Basically, I'm just wondering if anyone has done this before and has advice on which brand or setup to go with and if you have opinions on if it should be mounted before or after the resonator. Also, is it possible to add piping to the end of the cutoff so my exhaust wont lead out underneath my car?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Yeah, it's been done and there is a thread about it started about 2-3 years ago. The thing is, these motors sound like shit without some modification of the sound. You need a muffler of SOME type to tone down the "rasp" from a straight exhaust. It will drive you nutz. Now if you want to use it with another type of muffler, go for it. I can almost guarantee that, unless you are 15 years old, you will hate the sound.

You will also lose a ton of power. Don't do it unless your FI, because then it will sound nice.
