I think that the catalytic converters on my 06 coupe are going to need to be changed

soon. The car has a slight OC issue. Uses about 1/2 a quart in 1500-1800 miles with

just regular non aggressive driving. I am starting to wonder if the converters are starting

to get clogged from the OC issue. I would like to go ahead and get Hfc's but I have read

on here that it can cause other issues and also make the car use more oil. Guessing

from less backpressure. My question is if I were to put new Oem converters wouldn't

that make it use more oil also? Since the converters wouldn't have oil clogging up the

inside,it would be more free flowing. I'm wondering if I am overthinking this but any extra

insight might help. Thanks!

Never heard of that...Get some Fast INTENTIONS HFC'S from Tony or CleanG from this Forum...Best ones out right now...

I have seen on here that several people have said that Hfc's and test pipes can cause

your car to use more oil. Some have said it caused a spun bearing. Or caused it to

happen faster anyway. I planned on getting the Fast Intentions ones if I do get Hfc's. My

car is a DD so I don't need anything causing the engine to go out any quicker before I

can get the bottom end rebuilt.

Having better flowing cats will not cause harm to your engine...

What you get on DRIVER are members opinions, some know what they're posting others repeat what someone mentioned....right or wrong! Before you lay out $$ for HFCs find out if in fact your's are plugged. Most shops, Nissan or independent will tell you if they're plugged or how much they're flowing.
If you find you need new cats Fast Intentions are what I'm running BERK'S are trash! I make that statement cause they screwed me out of $600= with their faulty product!

I get what you are saying Gary. I would really like to get the FI Hfc's but who wants to

put out over $500 to later down the road have to rebuild the motor and assume that the

Hfc's accelerated the Oc problem. I wasn't aware that they can check the flow on

exhaust to see if their might be blockage. I was just going by when I crank the car up

and the exhaust doesn't smell right. I will check into having the exhaust tested. Thanks.
