I don't have the Fuji Ypipe. I've got an UT (Unlimited Tuning) Ypipe & the Fuji Legalis R. The UT & Fuji Ypipes look very similar other than the Fuji one has a connector tube inbetween the 2 pipes before it reaches the collector.

SO what I am gathering then it that a y-pipe is a y-pipe is a y-pipe, they all sound and perform pretty much the same... The reducer will make the difference in quality of sound and that I should look for one that is reasonably priced as oposed to a specefic brand. (?)

i have the gruppe-s replica y-pipe and the fujitsubo legalis-r exhaust. there isn't much of an increase in sound, and i definitely gained some power throughout the band. it was a great buy.

I am considering getting the Borla sedan exhaust but have not seen it installed, only a photo of the included parts to their system. With the Borla setup, are new y-pipe pieces included, rendering the need for an aftermarket y-pipe useless?

IMHO i think JIC and tanabe has better design as well....but are there facts to support it? i am afraid that Fujistubo design is to keep back pressure for the torque and taking that away (like in JIC or tanabe) might causes to loose power?
since by look JIC and tanabe has straighter flow than fujitsubo
