HFC with replica HKS exhaust and headers

I'm trying to figure out which HFC to buy for my set up. I have headers and the replica HKS exhaust. I have test pipes on it right now, but they are too loud and are throwing a CEL code every once and awhile. I'm thinking about the kinetix or the berks but have heard of hissing and raspy sounds. If anyone has this set up and could help me that would be great.

Do you have a magnaflow X pipe installed in your exhaust?

I've had good experiences with kinetix, great value for the price. Also look into getting a tune asap..

Thanks. What's the best tune. I live in ontario canada. Is there anywhere around here, or do I just go with Osiris?

Whether you dyno tune or buy the package with the reflash cable so you can record datalogs and etune you will be using Osiris, that's the name of the tuning software. I'm not sure what shops are in your area, but feel free to shoot me a pm if you have any questions about how the reflash yourself/ etune route works. Also save you a bunch of money compared to a dyno tune...

The hissing sound you're hearing may be a broken weld on the replica exhaust. You don't want Berk's HFCs, they're trash! You may not ever get rid of the raspy sound since you're running a knock off exhaust with thin wall pipe and low quality mufflers! For all you members out there that think the Magnflow x-pipe is a "Fix All" it isn't! We only installed the x-pipe in our authentic HKS systems because of their crossover quality control failure which restricted flow. Best HFCs in my opinion are Fast Intension's, two years and zero issues...Gary

why is the magnaflow xpipe not a fix all? I've seen and heard 2 hks reps with them and they did fix the drone issue.

I never had the rasp sound when I had my stock cats on, only after I put the test pipes on. That's why I'm wondering do I go with some kind of HFC, if so which ones for my set up or do I just go back to my stock cats.

Mike, members have the same issue when installing test pipes with OE exhaust. The volume of flow over powers the system capability so you get rasp or drone at different RPMs. HFCs like FI will sound better but may not eliminate all the rasp...Gary

Why are the Berk HFC's "trash?" 4 years, 30,000 miles, zero issues here.
