Would an exhaust mod fail the california smog test

Anyone in CA recommend a reputable source of exhaust mod? Thanks

If the OEM headers and cats are still there than any exhaust should pass.

Don't forget that smog has gotten tighter. They turned me away because my popcharger shield had a "CARB" sticker but my filter did not. Nor did my filter say J.Wolf on it. I put my OEM intake back on and passed just fine.

I have Nismo intake and just passed NO PROBLEM! Most places will over look it. I if you have a short ram intake like this, make sure you ask them AHEAD of time if it will pass visual for them.

anything that messes with the cats = fail
headers are arguably safe since they're not visible and don't affect smog
anything catback such as the Ypipe, mid pipe and axle back are fine. Noise is another issue.

Exactly. I just failed for HFCs on my 350Z HR. Had to go back to stock to pass...they still have the sniffer. Later this year they will go to OBD only, so I *might* have passed then, since I failed on sniffer alone..it passed visual with HFC. Personally I would NOT put on an HFC again..drives BETTER with cats on! Do Cat back only! I have an aftermarket cat back on..no problems at all with passing.
