Trouble Installing New Header

Hi,

I'm in the process of changing out the engine and installing new aftermarket headers in my 2003 G35. I have run into an issue where after putting the header on I am unable to turn the steering wheel. Has anyone had this problem or know of a solution? Any suggestions?

What brand are they? Headers should not have any affect on the steering. Is anything hitting the steering knuckle? I'm assuming you have ruled out the steering lock.

Sounds like u got some cheap ebay headers, which were designed using a RHD drive car. so in a LHD car they hit the steering rack.

BEST HEADERS FOR THE MONEY:
VQ35HR or VQ37VHR stock headers $150 junk yard all day.

Which statement? I gues headers for the money.

For hp/$ no headers beat the stock HR\VHR headers. They wont crack, fit without hitting anything, come with heat shields, and give a good mid range punch. I ran these on my 05 Sedan. You do have to swap the two center studs and run HR\VHR cats or test pipes, cause the header to cat flange is different.

HR\VHR have the same runner layout as the DE nismo headers.

I ran into the same problem myself, the driver side was rubbing the steering knuckle...swapped out with some borla and fit perfectly! Hope this helps. Honestly you get what you pay for especially when it comes to fitment.
