Just received the Pro 1 YPipe, had a local shop install it for 20 bucks. Immediately I got in and noticed when driving in 1st gear, that it seems easier to drive now???? For some reason, it seems like it is more restrictive now? not sure what the heck is up with that... The pull of the car at WOT is definitely smoother. A small rasp at around 2800-3200rpms, but sounds good. After driving it for two days, it seems to have opened up now. But I still have a smooth launch in first gear now. Before, the install, the gas was very sensitive and everytime I tapped the pedal, the rpms would rev up past 1k RPMs with no problem..now it seems that I have to give a little more gas..BUT, when I am driving around, it feels more sensitive when I tap the gas. Overall not sure what to think. Pulls smoother and seems to run smoother, but not sure if it did any help. Any ideas or feedback...
I will be receiving mine tomorrow according to UPS. Did you install on a sedan or a coupe?? Are you going to be keeping your stock/OEM exhaust?? I wanted to avoid going to a muffler shop and wanted to self install the Y pipe. I plan on going w/ the Greddy sp2 axle back system in 2-3 mos so I didnt want to weld reducer onto stock exhaust now, and when/if i get the greddy to have them cut and reinstall onto Greddy. What option did you have the shop take for the install and did they need to weld/cut OEM parts??
No need to cut or weld. I have similar design by other vendor. I recommed taking that job to a muffler shop. It is just not worth the time to DIY if you don't have a lift. Muffler shop would do it in under 20 minutes. You can just stand there and boss them around. 
I also liked the idea of other member here to heatwrap the pipe. That thing gets HOT. Don't park over plastic bags on the street after some WOT runs.

The Y-pipe you guys bought is designed to bolt up to the oem mid pipe. The makers could care less if you know if that's a good idea or not to have a 3" pipe running into a 2.5" inlet, really they'd rather not see a discussion on the matter as it will cause other buyers to think before they pull the trigger. You bought the Y-pipe to make power, and maybe because you've seen the pics I've posted of the oem Y-pipe. It is the right thing to do to kill off 1/4" high abrupt wall in the exhaust flow path. Don't kid yourself that something like that doesn't matter, it does. Fixing it is very simple. Here's how.

I understand what you are saying and agree with it. My only concern is this, I will probably go with an aftermarket exhaust in a month or two. I will either purchase the Greddy SP2, which is a axle back system (I believe this installs after the OEM mid pipe on the coupe) or the fuji legalis for the coupe which is a y pipe back exhaust. My dilemma is to just bolt on y pipe onto mid pipe for now and get y pipe back system (fuji), or to weld/use reducer to perm. fix the y pipe-midpipe issue and then just get axle back system (greddy sp2). OR just get it welded fixed and keep stock exhaust all together.... I just dont want the muffler shop to cut off my new Y pipe end to make it fit the mid pipe...as id much rather them chop off/cut the stock mid pipe....

Another benefit of using a muffler shop, they will use welder to warm up the bolts, which really simplifies the process of removing stock y-pipe.
I know removing muffler parts is a rea PITA due to rusting and weathering. However you think that is still the case on a 6 month old car?? I have hand tools and have the use of a breaker bar...just wondering if I will need to break out the air ratchet and/or air gun....something i have not yet used and a lil nervous about using....i figured since the car is only 6 mos old it would be relatively easy to remove the bolts....do people normally replace the bolts or reuse the same ones?

Cool man, that would be awesome!! I know vlm7 another member in our region has the Greddy SP2 who will also be at the meet! I wasnt going to waste my time w the Greddy, it being an axle back only exhaust...but id like to keep the 3'' diameter using fuji for better flow compared to the 2.5'' on the stock midpipe using greddy!!
well..i have a coupe....i kept my stock exhaust...it is only the Y Pipe that I replaced...the car definitely feels smoother when driving now..i like that, but my only concern is that when I am at idle, it feels/sounds like it is more restrictive..i give it gas while I'm idling and the rpms rev up/down...but not the same as the stock yPipe....the car pulls about the same, but definitely smoother....the sound is the same..if anything, BARELY deeper.....it removed a little of the growl of the stock YPipe when you would normally rev up the engine...honestly, not sure if my money was well spent..I think I may put my stock YPipe back on and put the money towards Eibach Springs or SwayBars...
