Exhaust manufactures make systems for HP & Sound so we don't get tickets for excessive noise. Headers straight thru to mufflers will be very loud for the street along with not having enough back pressure resulting in loss of HP! Go with a manufacture tuned system like Motordyne or HKS replacing your cats with ART pipes/HFC's, that's where you'll find the best results!

Probably better off doing Art Pipes and a catback. Assuming you won't have trouble passing inspection without cats.

I'm running an authentic HKS true dual system with a Magnflow x-pipe to replace the HKS crossover. Reason for the x-pipe was the poor quality crossover HKS was using. Along with that exhaust system I'm using Fast Intentions high flow cats for a sweet sound!

I'm running

Mrev2 plenum
5/16 spacer
Jwt intake with 350z tube
EBay engine damper
Art pipes
Motordyne tdx2
Hotchins Swaybars

It's a little too loud for me but
I'm just waiting to tune it

Ok OP, I'm running an authentic HKS system also but I'm using test pipes. It's too high pitched for me and art pipes would fix my issue. Haven't messed with the cross-over in my exhaust like Gary... But all in all my exhaust sounds OK at best.. I think you'd be satisfied with test pipes and a decent cat back system...

I had a Cali legal setup on my G, DC headers, hfcs, and Buddy Club cat back. If you want to get rid of the cats altogether, I'd go with DC race headers.

I have a Beluga Racing Y-pipe and Tanabe Medallion catback. Art Pipes showed up via FedEx yesterday but no telling when I'll have time to do the install-my business is booked up solid the next 10 days then I'm driving to Kentucky to visit my kids.

If you are getting a cat back exhaust system, you already have a down pipe (if you are mistaking them for what I think you are mistaking them for).

If you went to get rid of the cats and replace them with test pipes, then you might want to consider long tube headers or race headers. Instead of the standard 3 to 1 setup, its a 3 to 2 to 1 setup replacing the headers and cats.

If I remember correctly, 350Z/370Z exhaust components are interchangeable with any of the Gs. The biggest difference is the Z mid pipe is 4" shorter, which can be fixed with an extension.

There should be a thread about parts fitment somewhere here.

Took me .04 seconds to find links. You really need to quit relying on the forum to do your work for you.
