A/F,HO2, and O2 Sensors?

Hello everyone! I just signed up for this forum and will post my 2004 G35 ASAP on the new members page. I just bought this car the other day and it had a few minor (or so I thought) problems with it. The guy I got it off of said that the O2 sensors was bad and that was the reason for my Service Engine light to be on. I left my OBD monitor at home like an idiot and believed him. Well I took it home and scanned it and it said that I have 6 pending error codes. The car has no problem with idling but it does have a little backfire after I let off the throttle. Kinda sounds like little pops, not that loud.

I was just planning on buying two O2(

) sensors hoping that it would fix the problem but I saw this forum and thought I would ask the community first.

Thanks to anyone who can help me! Also, if there are better sensors out there, please recommend them to me because I'm fairly new to this.

Don't buy the sensors yet. There are fuses behind the battery that regulate the o2 sensor heating for all four sensors... If heating goes out, closed loop errors will come up.

That'd be my guess. Let us know if you find a popped fuse. If it keeps popping check the o2 wiring for shorts

Thanks so much for the reply man! I just checked my fuses and saw that the owner before me actually put the fuse in the wrong slot. I cleared the code and tired driving around for a bit, it still pops a little but the light hasn't come back. I keep this post updated if it does.

I'm very glad to have helped a bit!

Check that wiring, narrow it down! (Unless you mean the exhaust is popping, not the fuse, then try the ecu reset, throttle pedal and throttle body/idle relearn procedure)

You might have to reset your fuel trims or just keep driving it around and it should balance itself out.
