Denny,
Options to resolve your challenge:
1.Try bending the heat shield (crowbar or similar leverage tool)my driver side was way to close
2.I know this sounds crazy but check your hood-push down on it if its loose then loosen the bolts and adjust your latch with a tighter fit. During load my hood moved up and down creating a sound I thought was coming from the high flow cat install.
3.If all else fails take it to a shop and have them loosen the bolts and pull down your cat before retightening them. You may also consider having them a fabricate an L bracket that will attach to the original place of the OEM cat.
Hope this helps. After #2 mine sound great and the third is my contigency plan if the sound reappears.
Have a great day!

after throwing my car up on to jack stands i got under my car and had a buddy reving it up close to the redline i was still able to hear this "rattling sound" but it wasn't hitting anything. im now convinced that it is the sound of the fumes moving out of the pipes and exhaust. it sounds like a civic with a pep boys exhaust and i cant take it anylonger. it is embarrasing just to drive down my block not even at wot. i dont recommend regular test pipes to anyone. not sure what resonated ones sound like but for now i plan on putting my stock cats back and put some money aside for a nice set of high flows.
