3.5" vs 4" intake

Hey guys, I have read previous threads regarding intakes for our vehicles but I have yet to come across a definitive answer on which makes more power, a 3.5 or 4" intake.

I will be making a custom Short Ram intake, very similar to the images posted, where the cone filter is in a heat sheiled box with cold air being provided via a cold air scoop.

I have an 05 G35 6mt with the vq35de rev up engine
Mods:

Mrev2
5/16 blox plenum spacer
Custom ported upper plenum (tried to open up the neck as much as possible)
Ported lower runners
Iso thermal gaskets between runners and head and between runners and lower plenum.
Nwp 75mm TB (adapter is port matched to upper plenum so it stays at 75mm)
Invidia test pipes
Invidia Gemini true dual catback

I am planning on getting a tune so the intake will be one piece meaning the mad housing will be either 3.5" or 4"

Thanks in advance guys

Hi, have you dyno tuned yet?

I was tuned with 3.5 CAI and made 272whp, but now thinking about going to a 4" short ram intake (similar to Limpmodetuning) to squeeze out a bit more power..

Hey, I'm actually going to drop my car off tomorrow night at the dyno. I should get the car back on Friday, so I'll let u know as soon as I get the car back.

just got back from the dyno. I made 289whp and 270wtq. This was tuned on a dyno pack so it's technically brake hp. My g is an 05 revup with 202,000miles so these numbers are pretty good considering.

That was with the 4" and I ended up building that custom cold air box like stated earlier in the thread.

-invidia Gemini catback
-Non resonated test pipes
-Ported mrev2 plenum
-ported lower runners
-ported upper plenumn
-5/16 plenumn spacer
-iso thermal gaskets
throughout
-75mm TB
-4" intake
-lightweight flywheel and
stage 2 clutch
