Upper/lower Plenum

Installing long tube headers next week. Any recommandations if I should go with both the upper n lower plenum or just the upper? Car is NA with jdm intake and dual 2.5" exhaust. Tuning it after the header install.

You question isnt too clear. What model is you G? Replacing your lower plenum with an MREV2? Are you looking for an aftermarket upper plenum? Have you considered a spacer? What exactly is a "JDM intake"?

I'm sorry. Your right, that wasn't very clear.

I have an 05 6spd Coupe. I wanted to replace both the upper and lower plenums. For the lower plenum I was looking at the Motordyne MREV 2 and for the upper Kinetix Racing V+ Plenum. I don't really know if the two will work properly in conjunction to each other as well as if the installation of both of them at the same time is even possible.. Correction on the intake, it's a Injen SP 1993P air intake that simply replaces the stock intake. *

Since you have a revup engine, get a MD 5/16 spacer and a MREV2.

+1...you should only consider the MREV2 and 5/16 spacer with the OEM upper plenum. If you want to dress it up at the same time, you should check out my polished plenums and EVERY other aluminum engine part. Click the link in my signature to see my work.

Why would a 5/16 spacer be better than the kinetics V+ Plenum? Also, there are 3 different 5/16s plenums to choose from. The basic, copper and the other one. Which one to choose....

5/16 has been proved better time after time. The Kinetix V+ is ugly and has cracked or warped in a few situations. Get the isothermal MD kit.

I think I asked about it, but I forgot... is that mvrev2 any good with the DE engine?

05 is a rev-up DE so the merv works with your engine. 04 and later models not so good. Can someone else please confirm? Thanks

MREV2 works with the DE and rev-up engines...

it is essentially the same lower plenum for the 2003-2004s with some porting/milling/work done.

The gains are not work the $450 but many have taken their stock lower plenum and done work to them to improved performanc. Some people have bought the MREV2 - but gains are nominal....4-6 HP in upper rpm range mostly.

If you want to do any custom porting, I have a non-rev up lower/upper plenum for sale.
