cats
the injen is a hell of a lot louder with test pipes, im guessing u will definatly notice a sound diff with HF cats too

the injen was loud to begin with... though slightly muffled by the stock cats.
replacing the stock cats gave a more less restricted sound. IMO sound increase with crawford cats & injen exhaust vs stock cats and injen exhaust about 5-10%. if you can live with the injen sound the sound lvl from the cats wont be a problem.
performance... hmm I have no idea how i made my first run 14.1 @99.83... (with just injen cat back).
multiple runs after crawford cats im in 14.3-14.4 area. shift points were longer in the first run. the other runs I reset my ecu & tcu. however across the entire band my horsepower and torque was below the first run....
the higher torque and hp could be caused by minimal fuel in the first run (outside temp was about the same on all runs). and the shift point change was caused by me resetting the ecu & tcu (prob bad idea given the results).Ofcourse my first run might have been in manuamatic mode.... damn i just cant remember.
anyways everybody elses numbers reflect gains with the high-flow cats... if i could do my exhaust over again... id just get the cats and leave the stock. injen is just too annoying at 2k (which the auto lives at)

I too am thinking about some cats. I am also toying with the idea of new headers. But, I can only do one at a time right now. Any suggestions as to which to do first (using stock exhaust)?
As for the cats, I think the Crawford's seem to be the obvious choice. Anyone know why the Nismo cats are so d@mn expensive ($1300+)?!?!?

EverythingG35 lists the nismo headers for $1259 + shipping.
Crawford Z lists their headers for $1149 + shipping.
They are about the same price. Of course compared the Borla, both a way more.
