Installed Crawford Plenum and Stillen Groundwire Kit - PICS

I know this isn't new info, but I thought it would be fun to take pics as I installed some goodies this weekend. I'm not the best mechanic, so don't use my process as gospel. I didn't include every single step either, so use the manufacturer's instructions if doing either of these!

I know there are a lot of reviews on this product but what's YOUR impressions of the plenum...increase across the entire power band? Do you think you lost any low end torque? Do you think it was worth it?

Nice DYI guide ainsley. Thanks. One question about the Grounding kit, because I'm not sure I figured it out correctly when I was installing mine. Where did you attach the last point of the drivers side C wire? (the one that is laying unattached on the MAF on your pictures)

Trini: I definitely noticed a difference, although it's hard to describe. It seems to pull harder, and it sounds great. You can hear a more pronounced "sports car" revving sound coming from under the hood. I don't know if this makes sense, but it feels like the engine is straining less and has more power to spare? As far as whether it's worth it, I think so. That is subjective. I don't think any single mod makes a "significant" difference, but rather a subtle difference. It wasn't until I did all the mods together (see sig) that I would say the car is "significantly" faster and more aggressive. I can't objectively say which mods made what difference by themselves. I hope to dyno soon and at least be able to quantify the effect of all the mods together over stock.

Eddie, I just realized I miss-labeled "C" as "A" in one place. At any rate, the cable that has two segments (should be "C"). That's the one on the driver's side. The end you're referring to (the shorter of the two segments) attaches to an existing brass-colored bracket down on the driver side of the engine. There are two empty holes in the bracket. Use the one closest to the front of the car and use one of the bolts provided by Stillen with the kit. At least that's how I interpret the vague Stillen instructions...

Cool. Wo im Deutschland bist du? I've never been, but I'd love to. Are you in the military?

OZ thanks for the compliment to my assistant! She's three months old, and she already likes going fast. When she's in her swing, she insists I put it on HIGH!

Excellent! I assumed you were American because your English is so good. Better than some of the Americans' on this board.

The wires looks so thin? Is it 8-Gauge wires? I have mine installed (Custom) and is it 4 Gauge wires. Here is the picture:

I know this is kind of a random question, but where were the pictures in the link in your signature? I live in Austin, and for some reason those arches and that gas station in the background look, really, really familiar. I feel like it's off Jollyville Rd., but I don't know.

Thanks Sigma!

Wolfster: I wasn't sure so I looked it up on the Stillen site. They say, "These kits feature 8-gauge copper wire, gold plated connectors along with 4-gauge & 8-gauge ring connectors." I don't know if the kits live up to their claim of HP and torque, but I'm not disappointed since I had no expectations. I like your blue wires! Those are custom?

Augy: Thanks man! Like every baby, she's amazing. It's an adventure you're never READY for. She gets her good looks from her mom. I'm not concerned about her dating one of these days because I'm an avid gun collector. I plan to be cleaning them every time a boy comes over for a date. Hope they don't mind me riding along in the back seat!

msd: You got it! Jollyville Rd. in the Great Hills Baptist parking lot. I used to live in the apartments next door, and I would always take my latest motorcycle or car over there for pictures. Since we got a house I still go back there for old time's sake. Do you do anything with the Austin Z Club? I was thinking of checking them out. czot.org

No, I haven't. I actually only bought my G35 this past Thursday, so I've been trolling this board trying to get some info on the car. I used to have an '02 IS300, and I met up with an IS300 club here in Austin once. It was fun but they seemed more like a 'hang out' type group that just happened to have thesame car instead of a group of people that actually did stuff with their cars. Oh well.
