Might have an Injen fiberglass problem...

Hi guys,

quickie ...

I've had the Injen cat back installed for a month or two now and recently i've found little reflective grains all over my entire car (alot of them). The only thing i can think of thats causing it is the exhaust however im befuddled as to how it can coat the entire car and not just the rear bumper???

Any ideas ?

thanks

You need to call Injen and let them know about the problem and they should send you some replacement parts.

Thumbs down

Guess what, I'm sorry to say but you have "involuntary" joined the club. Don't think that replacement primary pipes will fix the problem, it does not! You might have the newer version anyway. Are the flex joints further away from the cats? If so, you do have the latest primaries, which still blows fiberglass. There have been so many threads about this problem, I'm surprised that people would even consider buying an Injen SES1992c. In my opinion there are two things you can do, learn to live with fiberglass pariculars all over your bumper and deck lid, or take that piece of s... off your car and get another system.

Thanks guys !

I'm going to contact Injen...

I dont want to waste my time replacing the mufflers if its still going to blow glass... perhaps I could get tossed on a list for replacements if/when they fix this problem.

and hell its not over my bumper and deck lid... its over the entire car... when i first noticed it , it was inside also

arghh about 1k wasted... worst case maybe ill go back to stock ((((

Spoke with Doey @ injen (909-839-2097)

Please note im not interested in wasting my time swapping **** if its not going to work.

Doey stated there was alot of incorrect info on the boards. while that may be true one thing is certain the fiberglass is spewing. so regardless of the angled or straight exhaust they both will spew glass according to him. and it requires time.

bottom line for me is im giving it 2 months of HUMID weather in NJ and will take the car on a long ride to bake the packed fiberglass section. after these requirements are met there should be no glass on my car. however if there is I'll be seeking warranty assistance from injen. Im not one to involve lawyers however if they fail to resolve the fiberglass problem and fail yo re-imburse me for the cost of the system... a class action may be considered.

Here is my 2cents again. Take my experience with this problem for what its worth. After receiving my replacement primaries last Oct '04, my Injen SES1992c still blows fiberglass particulars to this day. That is 8 months! All said, with purchase and professional installs at my muffler shop, I've probably spent over $1,400 and it still blows fiberglass. If anyone thinks that time or weather has anything to do with correcting the fiberglass problem is wrong. Do all exhaust systems blow fiberglass? I think not. Like I have stated before, "my" Injen SES1992c exhaust system with the replacement primaries is pure s***. It is a defective product which should not be sold to the public. The replacement primaries are also defective. As with any aftermarket product, one would hope for quality, which this system is not. I hope you have better luck than I did.
