HKS "Carbon Ti Hi-Power" Exhaust???

Does anyone know what this "Carbon Ti Hi-Power" exhaust is? Is it the muffler made out of carbonfiber or something? Or is it the same Hi-Power exhaust that we been calling it and leaving out the word "carbon"? Or is this a new one with special carbon it in now or something? Look at page 51 in the new June '05 issue of Super Street to see what I am talking about. --Thanks.

actually SSR/SFR engineering is developing if not already developed a cf HKS muffler w/ i believe only a single outlet muffler. they posted on this forum about it 3 weeks ago to see how much interest there is. I have not seen or heard anything else since...hopefully its in production though.

Ok, so the muffler are carbon fiber then i c, then they should just call it carbon fiber and not just "carbon".

The muffler is only carbon fiber wrapped, meaning that the canister is stainless steel and is wrapped with a carbon fiber material. If the muffler is completely carbon fiber, you would definitely have major issues. Therefore, the sound of the exhaust will posses the familiar exhaust sound like any other muffler on a G35. The only difference would be the appearance of the canister or canisters that are wrapped in carbon fiber element, Nothing too special.

Kool, I'll stick to my stainless steel mufflers. I never like carbon fiber stuff anyways they always tend to fade eventually and need new clearcoats from what I experienced.

i was under the assumption that you knew when i said cf muffler that it was simply wrapped in cf, not a complete CF muffler!!!

Of course, if it is "Carbon Fiber" it is used as a wrap. HKS's ad states "Carbon" Ti Hi-Power exhaust, "Carbon" which is a different element then "Carbon Fiber" which is a 'lil confusing?

N-E-Ways, HKS don't make this "Carbon Fiber" application for our cars.

Hey, Mike. So how does the HKS exhaust with crawford cats sound at full throttle? Any rasp? Any hissing noises while deccelerating?

Yo sup Ian,

I still haven't got it yet, thats why I didn't feel like going to the track Friday. It is on national backorder from HKS . I am still waiting so once I get it I will swing by so you guys can check it out.

Anything going on this weekend?

Your right, but if you had thoroughly read my post....youd have seen that i said SSF/SSR engineering is/has developed an exhaust system WITH AN HKS CARBON FIBER MUFFLER EXHAUST. 99% of people who know anything about cars are intelligent enough to pick up on things where they dont have or need to be spelled out. go read the thread on my350z forums and everyone including the manufacturer calls it a cf muffler....i simply was trying to answer your question....and just because they call an exhaust the 'hi power' exhaust doesnt mean it will provide hi power, same goes for the 'carbon hi power exhaust'.....

it helps to read before you type....
