G35 Headers and Resonater Pipes
G35 Headers and Resonater Pipes
Hi im new to this board and i was wondering.. I plan to make future mods to my G35 and i love the exhaust note but i want it to be louder and im looking to add quik hp. I am considering putting on headers and taking off the resonater pipes. My first question is would this make my car sound like a import or will will it just give me more hp and a stronger exhaust note. I also plan on putting a cold air intake.
ALso what brand headers are best. I was looking at Stillen, Borla, and Nismo
any favorits. Thank you for your feedback

I have an Injen CAI, Megan Racing headers and test pipes.
I have not installed the headers yet, but with the test pipes, it does make the exhaust note louder. However after 3k RPM, it does sound a little ricey, its got the hollow sound to it. Its kinda gay, but its not so bad at the same time. I can't wait to put the headers on to see what kinda changes that makes. I'm just not looking forward to the headers install, thats going to be a b****
The CAI and test pipes were easy though.

Yea, have FUN with the header install! It's a REAL pain in the you know where! Talk about knuckle buster! It's super tight under there! The driver side is a bit easier, and you can get to most of the bolts from the top, but the passenger side is annoying! Everyday hand tools won't cut it. To make your life a whole lot easier make sure you also have the following; those nifty rachet-action hand wrenches (size 14mm and 10mm) in both long and short form, a medium length rachet with a flex-head design, rachet extensions (various lengths from 3" to longer than 12"), and don't forget some good old WD40. Last but not least, give yourself PLENTY of time! I did mine on my back, with my G's front-end on stands. On a lift with more room, one may be able to get the job in the 5 hours they claim it takes, but alone, on your back, with just two hands, expect it to take longer! I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, feel free to drop me a line.
I own a shop with a few racks and full tools, I have the resources, its still gonna take some time though. When I do eventually get around to it, I'll let you all know how it went.
