Performance exhaust
No, I didn't say that at all. Lot's of people on the forum have the Borla and love it. Doug Stewart, at Crawford, has a Brola. For me, however, it was not my choice. To many pieces, clamps, etc.
Many people have had them leak, and needed to weld them. And, as I said, it really is not a true dual due to the "X" type muffler. As far as sound goes, I heard it is quiet but aggressive. Power, well, I don't believe there is a lot to be gained from an exhaust system. Much more can be gained by replacing the cats (the most restrictive part of the system) with Hi-Flows. Also, the "Y" pipe is restrictive.
If you want the Borla, go for it. It just wasn't my choice for the issues I mentioned. But, if you want a dual system, as I said above, I would recommend the Invidia G200. I would, and do, stay away from Stillen due to the many negative comments I seen on these and other forums about them.

Comments on the Stillen exhaust continue to confuse me - and I have one.
First off, there are now three Stillen Cat-Back Exhaust Systems.
The first system fits the G35 Coupe and 350Z. It's is "true dual" with an X-pipe, two resonators, two mufflers, with dual 2.5" OD, .065" wall tubing. This system was among the quietest aftermarket system in our exhaust shootout - Fall 2003. Here's the sound numbers we published.
Stock: 81db@idle - 89db@3k
Stillen: 84db - 93db
Borla: 88db - 92db
Nismo: 84db - 95db
Injen: 83db - 99db
5Zigen: 87db - 105db
The second Stillen Cat-Back Exhaust System was made for the 2WD G35 Sedan. It's not a "true dual" as it has an X-pipe, two resonators, and dual 2.5" OD, .065" wall tubing ending in a common muffler. This system is louder than the Coupe's partially due to the Sedan's trunk and back seat acting like a speaker enclosure. (Note: Many who have ridden in my Sedan have commented that it sounds great and is nowhere as loud as some say.)
The latest Stillen Cat-Back Exhaust System is a redesign of the Sedan's exhaust to fit the G35X. This system fits both the AWD and 2WD Sedans and is said to be quieter than the first version. (It's the only one I haven't personally tested.)
I hope this info helps clarify the differences. Also remember sound (a good exhaust note) is very subjective, do your own first hand research before pulling out the credit card. .

I heard different from the stillen---from what I hear on the forum it is one of the loudest aftermarket exhausts...
Are you sure the guys at stillen haven't modified that exhaust system since 2003?
