Performance exhaust

Ok ok, I know these types of questions have been asked over and over and over--but each one is a personal question relating to the poster, so here is mine. I am upgrading the exhaust from stock, and I am planning to purchase the Crawford high-flow cats and an exhaust system. Now, which system has the best performance change? I can really do any of the systems (Stillen, Borla, HKS Hi, Fuji, Greddy etc.), but which would net me the best performance boost? I would also like it louder than stock, but not obnoxious...any ideas?

Thanks,

Hockeyplay95

Pretty much all your aftermarket exhaust are going to be louder than the factory and with the addition of HF cats, it might be louder than you want. No matter what exhaust system you purchase, your probably only going gain about 15hp the most (make sure your new exhaust has the Y-pipe included for the most hp). I would suggest going to an G35 car show/meeting and listen to other different exhaust in person to find exactly what you want. Good Luck.

your car is gonna be very loud with the HF cats on there. Stillen is known to be one of the loudest exhausts by itself... coupled with the cats and headers, you're gonna be setting off car alarms when you go WOT lol

I just had my Fuji installed and I couldn't be happier!!! It has a mellow sound at idle but growls nicely at wot. IMHO there is no other, and I did alot of research. The fit and finish compared to other systems I looked at is flawless, it took the guy installing it about 30 min and he said it was the cleanest fitment he had ever seen. Unless you want something louder it's Fujitsubo all the way!!

I've been really interested in the Borla exhaust since it's a true dual. However, I have read a couple of reports that you will lose torque in the process.

Thoughts?

Well, Borla is not a true dual. They advertise it as a true dual, but they have two pipes coming down into an "X" type muffler where both sides mingle. To me, that is not a "True Dual" System. The Stillen is a True Dual, with an "X" up at the before the resonators, and 2 separate mufflers. The Invidia G200 is a True Dual with one large muffler with separate paths for the right and left sides (no Mingling). The Ingen is also a True Dual with separate mufflers and no mingling.

My choice was the Invidia. A system with great fit and finish. Highly polished pipes and muffler, and titanium tips. I did, however, add an "H" pipe to mine. It smoothed out the idle, both in feel and sound. The exhaust is not that loud, just a low gurgle that really howls at WOT. I do have Crawford Hi-Flow Cats, and I have Crawford Headers on the way to Jet-Hot now. I don't yet know, how much that will change the sound. But, I can't wait to find out.

As far as the Invidia exhaust is concerned, I'm glad I waited for this system.

Lou

So, are you guys saying that the Borla is a bad direction to go in? Does it sound crappy? Performance?

I was really thinking about getting it........but.......
