Interesting conclusion! Having driven and tested Coupes (or 350Zs) with exhausts 1) through 4) I find no correlation between my findings and your loudness list -- nor did our Fall 2003 Exhaust Shootout Article (for exhausts 1, 2 & 3).

pro 1 w/o silencers is the loudest nothing even compares

 

how about a straight through system with the nismo mufflers? that is what i am looking at, because i want all nismo parts on my G... and want the exhaust to be obnoxiously loud, at least until i get sick of it

 

haha...well you should also get the Nismo headers and cats to help with the exhaust note....

 

What about Borla? Where does it stand on that list?

 

borla is one of the most quiet

 

pro 1? who makes this exhaust? is it a single or true dual and how much can i get one for? does anyone have a pic/video/sound clip of the pro-1 in action?

 

wont cats make it less louder? (my original question stated that i want to do a straight through system, no cats, replace all the parts with more free-flowing ones and get the loudest, yet good sounding, muffler)

 

Got to drive SFLG35's car and he has the Nvidia for the 350z on his G35 and yes...its pretty damn loud. 10x times louder than my borla. Definately keeps you awake on a long drive.

 

is hks really quietter than greddy. i heard a greddy kit and it was quiet as f**k. i thought hks was supposed to be pretty loud, comparable to injen and stillen? if anyone has any input, please reply

 

I would go out on a limb and say that noone on this forum has a louder exhaust on their G than SFLG35. He has an invidia exhaust from a 350z that they welded extension pieces on.

He also removed the (resonators???) and the exhaust sounds INSANELY awesome. You can hear him coming, going and going even further. Super deep, throaty and mean sounding for sure.

Just PM him with questions if you want a really mean exhaust.

BTW, I've heard the Borla (with and without cats), fujitsubo, Invidia (stock and gutted), Stillen (for the sedan), Injen, HKS (with and without cats) and Greddy all in person.

Hey Neff...what did you think of the Borla TD with Crawford Cats? As this is what goes on my car later today and curious to what it sounds like. I heard Ian's the other day...but this was after 8 hours of driving Daniel's car which made Ian's, and everything else quite frankly, sound like a mouse. But after driving my stock for a while...it'll be interesting to hear it. (I've read its quieter than stock at low RPM's and higher than stock at upper RPM's).
