Test pipe?

Im about to order a invidia exhaust system with a pro 1 Y pipe.

I want to know how much louder and and smelly test pipes would make the car? they are only about $140. Will they throught a CEL? Should i just get some high flow cats.
thanks

what exactly is a test pipe for? will it past inspection? and is it bad for the environment?

test pipes have any performance gains or are they strictly for sound?

Test pipes are bad for the environment. The extra smell is from the left over un burnt fuel that the cats usually burn up. On the other hand they make a free flowing exhaust with almost no restriction. These would be best used on a turbo vehicle. I don't see too much gain from test pipes unless you are going F.I.

Hey Luke, I'm assuming you're buying a G200 exhaust from Invidia. And before you waste your money, I wouldn't buy a Y-Pipe being the G200 is a Cat back dual exhaust system. A y pipe wouldn't fit with the exhaust.
