B&B makes some of the BEST systems around and have been known to build some of the most saught after Porsche and BMW race and street systems on the market and race circuit. I had a full-blown B&B race exhaust system on my 95 M3 and that system was custom built (not an off the shelf special) and cost over $1300! Not on par on any level to Magnaflow, which is more of an "off the shelf exhaust system."
B&B systems are each hand built (never mass produced) and manufactured to very precise specs, and yes this was one of the very first aftermarket exhaust systems out for the G and Z. It may look "cheap" (not as flashy) compared to the more common JDM units out there, but don't let its look fool ya. It sounds mean and if B&B states it produces power, that's as good as gold in my book.
If it looks like anything else out on the market, its because they copied it from B&B. The price is also not bad and if I had to swap out my Fuji system with anything else tomorrow, I would go with the B&B!

just my 2 cents RX as a matter of fact i would rather have people out there think the B&B was crap so that i could be the only one around with it.

Kind of late, but I will throw my 2 cents in. I bought this exhaust back in March of 03 when it was just about the only exhaust out, although I think Stillen was around too. I remember when I unpacked it, my first thought was "I paid $900 for this?" Don't get me wrong, the quality was first rate and it was a beautiful piece. It just looked like a polished stock exhaust with no resonator on the mid-pipe and a smaller rear muffler. The fact its only a Y-pipe back exhaust didn't thrill me either.
I got a ton of compliments on the sound. I don't know if it was because the G35 was still rare at that point and people hadn't heard it before, but regardless they seemed to love it. It was very raspy when revved at idle, but wasn't too bad under load. I suspected it would be too loud and raspy for me when paired with resonated test pipes, so I sold it to get the Borla instead. I was very happy with the switch as I preferred the smoother, deeper sound of the Borla.
I did contact customer service at B&B a couple times, and they were always prompt to reply and courteous. They sent me a reducer cone for free, but I didn't really want to restrict the exhaust and any gains it might have just to quiet it down. I had no problem finding a local buyer who was thrilled to buy a slightly used exhuast for 1/2 price.
