Thought everyone would like to know the gains that will be seen on their coupes if Borla headers are added. A dyno was done on my car before installation (car had injen CAI and Borla true dual exhaust (Coupe version NOT modified 350Z) ) then an after with Injen CAI, Borla true dual exhaust, and Borla headers. The results that David Borla told me (he said he'll get the sheets on Monday) were a gain of 8 HP. I hope this helps whoever may be looking in the market for good price\good performance parts.

 

In looking at pictures of the Borla 350Z dual exhaust prototype, it appears that there's one common muffler.

Does your Borla dual exhaust system have one or two mufflers?

 

It has one muffler but they are still true duals. The one muffler design is to cross the air like a X-crossed pipe. Like David Borla said, if you put a ping pong down the two pipes leading to the muffler, the ping pong ***** would not touch each other. I believe the ***** would instead shoot out in a criss cross pattern (ie. you put a green ball down the left pipe and a red ball down the right, the red would come out of the left exhaust pipe and the green on the right exhaust pipe).

 

Interesting! I'd sure like to see a cross section of this Borla muffler.

Now that Borla has built a catback system for the G35 Coupe, they can take the headpipe and 75% of the midpipe design and build a similar system for the G35 Sedan.

 

Arent the Borla headers made for the 350z they just happen to fit the G35c without any modifications? Does anyone know where I would be able to buy the headers for a good price?

Well

we installed some headers on a G35 Coupe on Friday. We still haven't dyno'd yet, but the owner (buttdyno) tells me that the car revs much faster and it feels more peppy. Their is some modification that has to be done in the downpipe in order to fit these headers in a G35Coupe.

have any of u read about the nismo header those look like they are going to a lot better then the borla but they are more exspencive. The nismo headers gain 13 whp and 13 Lb-ft

I don't have a dyno before and after exhaust install. I was somehow very busy these past couple weeks and have not asked for my dyno sheets however I can say the car feels a bit stronger and faster. I will try to get some sheets ASAP. Second, the Nismo headers look very nice indeed but for double the price of the Borla headers, I think I'll pass especially since I got the headers for free :P

(Injen CAI, Borla dual + headers, and pulleys) or is it the same one?

it is the same coupe, G35-6MT black out of P.R.
250rwhp with Injen CAI, Borla dual + headers, and pulleys.
That should make it the first N/A no NOS G35 with 300hp at the crank in P.R.

what's the stock rwhp dyno'd at for a 6mt coupe?

are we talking only 20hp gains with an exhaust, headers, CAI, and pulleys or am i mis-calucating something.
