1st dyno

Like many of you, I am sorry that I did not make base Dyno. So yesterday I finally made my first dyno.

I was expecting higher number, if MT drivetrain loss is 12-15%. More so because when MD spacer was installed I really felt the increase. Which wasn’t the case with KN filter and Z tube except more noise.

I don’t know what to do next: headers with cats or cats with Y pipe or just some resonated test pipes? Do test pipes have risk of impounding on the spot in NJ?

No matter what, I would like to keep sound level low and low-rpm torque high.

Please suggest, what would be easiest way to reach 250 WHP? Thanks

Thanks, with 18% numbers look right, but I thought that 15-18% loss is for AT?

My 2003 5AT dyno'd 221 WHP on a dyno jet. My car had a 21% drive train loss, if it was actually 280 flywheel HP. I have the factory chrome 17”s, been told their very heavy.
I'm currently at 250 WHP, below got me there.
Stillen Air box, Z-tube, 1/2" MD w/ISO Thermal Kit, and Invidia G200 exhaust
https://g35driver.com/forums/reviews/73734-dyno-d-stillen-hi-flow-airbox.html

Note: the Stillen air box only gave me 1WHP, might just stick with the K&N drop in filter.

Drive train loss
6MT 15% to 18%
5AT 18% to 21%

G35StrongMan,
Comparing your dyno to mine, your Invidia G200 have nice power push above 4K rpm. But it looks like you lost some tq below 4K rpm. I heard Invidia yesterday, and what I liked was that it sounds quiet. Thanks

Doval,
I ordered a custom X-pipe for my exhasut. Hopefully it will give me some of the mid to low TQ back.
The Stillen Air Box made my Invidia louder, if you like quiet stick to your current intake setup.

from my reading, seems like the Z tube and JWT air filters don't add that much HP, it's the spacer, but would the spacer be as effective with the stock intake tube?
