Exhaust and Y-Pipe Cracking

I have a Pro - 1 y pipe Pro - 1 test pipes. This is now my 3rd set of them because they keep cracking. Any ideas on how to make this set last?

Buy another brand?!

I know its not a very good answer but after the first set I would have looked elsewhere.

Well I take back the cracked ones and Top Speed is a reputable shop and they provide me with new ones. They are just as baffled as I am. So it's not a money issue cuz I don't pay for new ones everytime. I mean that really WOULD be stupid to keep spending money on cracking Y pipes. Could it be the tension of the bolts? I mean is it possible to tighten the bolts to the point of cracking the metal!!???!?

I'd ask them what the spec. is on the torque & tighten them accordingly.

I will, but is it even possible that that could even be the reason for the cracking?!?!

Wait so you've had them crack too??? Mine is at the existing weld where the y pipe "y's" out to dual pipes. Is that where you are having cracking problems?

Huh!!! Weird. Did you just run over to a welding shop and have them reweld them? And if you don't mind PMing me how much the welding job cost you I would REALLY appreciate it!

i took them off the car, then brought them to a friend's shop. With the pipes being off the car he could weld all the way around them. If the pipes are on the car, its hard to weld around the top. The whole job didn't cost me more than 20 bux.. excellent investment...
hope this helps!!!!!

Yeah that really really does help. It has been pretty frustrating so far. But hopefully I can get some good welds put in there and fix this friggin problem. I really really appreciate it.
