Single Exhaust vs Dual Exhaust

Hi,

I'm considering in getting either a single exhaust or a dual exhaust. However, I am not sure which type to get. Can anyone please drop me some hints as to what type of exhaust is best for performance? I am choosing from the following exhaust models: (Single) JIC Stainless Steel; (Dual) Fujitsubo, Invida G200, Apex N-1 or RSR ExMag Dual. Any recommendations?

Much appreciated.

What about 3 exhausts?

Joking aside, I did see a Latino guy in his all riced out Ford Tempo with 3 exhausts yesterday. 2 fake ones on the right side and the real one on the driver's side. And they look Genuinely fake, even from a distance. Wish I had a camera.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but what if you were looking for top hp/torque gains at the wheel and a deeper sound. I hate the higher, raspier sound from many exhausts, and feel the stock sound is really weak. Recommendations?

I prefer a dual setup personally like Borla or Stillen, but I understand that a single pipe can be just as effective.

Of those listed, I'd go with the JIC because it's lighter than the others, without losing emphasis on style and power enhancements. The others are essentially single piping, into 2 mufflers, or 1 muffler two exits. If you were going for a true dual system, then I'd suggest something like the stillen system, imo..that's just more added weight to get a little power out of your engine.

i've heard a fuji before and it didn't sound that loud. if i remember correctly he had a K&N with a Z tube and i had a injen CAI with stock exhaust and i'm louder. is that suppose to be right? that thing does look pretty good though.

Why not try Injen SES, it looks good not to mention it sound mean as hell...Plus it's straight catback, only odd part is you may loss lil low end torque but gain in high end torque, i say check it out...

Thanks for the replies..
I am mainly looking for two things.
a) mean aggressive sound
b) performance

Has anyone heard the JIC when it is WOT?
thanks..

if you have a Sedan.. i would say go with Stillen all the way..
its x-pipe is so very well designed..

but for coupes, you have more choices.. if you sth more quiet
you might wanna try indivia
try do a search ..and also listen to sound clips

as for performance, as long as it is true dual, the performance
should roughly the same.. (i would say expect around 10rwhp..and
some torque at the mid to top end)

good luck

I remember reading that someone said that we shouldn't get the true dual exhaust because we need some back pressure. We should only get the true dual if we are FI and we may lose HP and Torque. Is this true? I was thinking of some true dual like the HKS and Stillin. So, this is also making me curiuos.

If your not going FI or doing internals - say with the single, not dual. for me, Borla is a great dual and Stillen has a decent single - but kind of loud (drone) for my taste.
