Labree Resonated Test Pipe **added DYNO**
Just received my Labree resonated test pipe...and I’m glad I spend the extra $$ for those. The pipes come with a lifetime warranty from Labree and the work is TOP NOTCH with nice welds.
I will be installing those soon and hopefully return to the dyno for some tuning to yield even more gain with the UTEC.
DYNO ADDED ON 2nd PAGE.
As you can see the resonator is a lot bigger than the ones found on ebay pipes (Megan)
Inside the resonator
Shaved welds inside the pipes

Those look nice. It will be interesting to see if you have any rasp. I have the Kinetix resonated and they still have a little. Not to bad, but still audible. I dont know why someone hasnt produced a full length resonated version. Basically a mandrel bent pipe within a pipe with packing between them.

Yep, I like the power increase. Combined with the Stillen X-pipe catback, it is pretty dramatic. I think the wall thickness of the testpipes is critical for not having rasp. If they would make them thicker, they would be dead quiet like a cast manifold. Probably wouldnt even need a resonator.

Got ‘em installed and all I can say is WOW…I’m really loves these pipes.
It took my buddy mechanic about an hour and so to install the pipes…so not very challenging if you have the right tools. The fitment was great w/ enough room between the pipes n the heat shields.
At startup the car wasn’t as loud as I though it might get, just slightly more pronounced…but give it some revs n man this things sounds sweet. It definitely doesn’t have near as much rasp as the non res. test pipes on my buddy’s Z which is ok with me as I still like some of that raspy sound. When cruising, the in-cabin noise increase is noticeable but in a way that doesn’t prevent you from having a normal conversation plus the SSV is always there.
Power wise, I felt a gain that was comparable but still not as pronounced as the UTEC which yielded ~12whp at the time…only another trip to the dyno would confirm this but in the main time take my word when I say YOU will FEEL the gain.

I had those a long time ago. I took them off with less then 50 miles.
The smell is horrible. Smells like a lawn mower and sounds like you have a whole grip of killer bee's inside your car.
Once again, i wouldnt get test pipes unless you are doing exactly what they are for, TESTING or dyno. For the street, it just stinks(no pun intended)
