Anyone have this yet, and how do u like it ?
Im lookin for a drop in filter with the air flow comparable to the K&N, without the oil and with better filtering.
This Amsoil claims to have air flow as good as a K&N, but far better filtering, which is hard to believe because airflow rate is inversely proportional to filtering effectiveness.
Also, what other drop in options are there and how good are they, ex. AirHog, Blitz, Greddy ?

drop in filters are mostly the same...you have nismo, blitz, hks, and so on and so on...i went with K&N because most of the aftermarket intakes use their filters...i have used amsoil's air filter in the past when it was an oil based filter and it reminded me of a big dish sponge that you had to soak this thick oil with...
A few members here have ordered and installed the new Amsoil Nano Filter (EaA74). I ordered mine a couple of days ago. At this point, I am seeking a non OEM filter with better filtering properties than my K&N filter. Unlike the K&N, the Amsoil filter doesn't require cleaning and oiling products, which is a plus for me.

I was doing a bunch of research on the EA filter as well, because I am going to buy one for my truck(once the make one for it), and I'm buying one for my G35 in the Spring when I put it back on the road.Originally Posted by andy2434

I didn't find one person that wasn't happy with the Nanofiber filter. There was like 2 or 3 people over here on this board that had it, and I found a bunch over on the Z-forums who had it.
The way you clean it, is that you take a vacuum cleaner and suck the dirt out of the filter from the dirty side, or blow the dirt out by turning the Vac on reverse(assuming your vacuum has this feature)from the clean side.

I just ordered and installed New Year's Eve morning along with the Z-tube. Currently testing right now for MPG/performance/yada yada. I'm going to give it 1500 miles before I come to any conclusions. Update to come!

I don't expect much from the Amsoil Filter. I simply wanted a filter, which is somewhat comparable to the K&N without all of the mess and better filtration properties.
How are you finding your Z Tube install, so far?

Sorry to HiJack the thread but I've read lot's on filters and this one could be best available.
Could someone provide a good source for purchase? Thanks.

Andy, I never had the K&N on so I can't comment on that. I installed the Amsoil and Z-tube and went for a "spirited" run (thank God no wet roads) and kept an eye on the NAV/MPG meter. Strangely enough at the end of the faster-than-I-normally-drive run (from SF to Tanforan Shopping Center), mileage actually increased 0.2MPG. Again, waiting for the full 1500 miles before coming to any conclusions.Originally Posted by andy2434

Oh, and the Z-Tube and air filter install was a snap. The guide was dead-on, when removing the air filter you'll notice that the bottom right corner has most of the nasty stuff.
Danny, looks like the mod bug is taking a firmer hold of you. What's next, buddy?

with my k&n drop in filter...well using tank measurements...miles driven vs gas purchased this weekend on the way to the ranch i achieved 25 mpg doing 75...around town i ran around the same but when i left to go home i achieved 27 mpg doing 75 but that is due to the gas they sell in the country since it doesnt have the emission stuff in the gas...
