I spent a while reading their webiste about this thing, and i came away with three things:
1.) I can't tell what it is exactly
2.) Don't know if it would help?
3.) How hard is it to install it?

Ericinmia, I'm interested in the Crawford Plenum too. Can you post the url you visited please.
Apparantly it equalizes the air flow, thereby tunes each cylinder to optimum, rendering a few hp.
I haven't seen any proof, but just heard it's good for maybe 10 hp.
Install should be staightforward: unbolt the old and install the new. New gasket and torque the bolts properly.
What i'd like to know is if you can retain the engine cover, and if there's any clearance issues.
This mod is reckoned to be one of the best bangs for the buck.

I haven't decided on any mods yet. So far, my wife likes the smoothness of the Hyper-Grounds. She doesn't like anything 'too showy' or make the car louder, or ride rougher. I'll wait for feedback from others about the plenum.

I'm definitely interested in this plenum...From what I understand function-wise the stock manifold is not designed for ideal air flow...The Crawford Plenum is something around 25% more efficient and supposedly delivers another 9HP...From what I understand the engine cover does not fit after the installation, and I'm basing that on the fact that Crawford is having to design a strut tower bar that will clear the plenum...I think it's one of the finest mods in the market at this point...I don't much care for how it looks, but oh well- function before aesthetics...

I put the Crawford Plenum on my 6MT Coupe last thursday. You'll find a post in here somewhere. Anyway, this is the most bang for the buck mod you can make at this time. The car pulls strongly right up to redline. There are absolutely no down sides to this mod. On Gs, even the engine cover fits back on (there is however a gap to the oil filler, and the cover does not sit flat anymore. But, as I said the power from about 4K up is now awesome. All I can say is definitely worth the money. Doug Stewert (the manger at Crawford) is a super guy, very easy to talk to. I also have a "Z" intake tube, a K&N Filter in the stock airbox, grounding kit, and a true dual exhaust. This mod, however made the most difference.

1&2. They take the stock intake pleneum and modify it to improve the air flow caused how it gets flatter towards the front. That in turn cause's 2 of the 6 cylinders to get 30% less airflow than the others. Crawford slice's open the pleneum, and eliminate's the slope at the front by raising the front section up. This results in improved airflow to the 2 cylinders that were getting 30% less airflow. Now they only suffer a 5% loss compaired to the other cylinders. That's HOW it helps. What you net is 9 more hp at the hp peak and as yo spin the motor to redline the intake prevents the power curve from dropping off as much as stock, at redline, you have gained 20hp over stock again at redline.

BTW, I have the intake on my sedan and I can confirm, and mightly so, that you will feel the gains. And that the charge to redline is more powerfull, very noticeable. If you want more power and you have the $$ buy it, worth every penny! You will never wonder "IF" it made more power, period.

3. It's easy to install, I did mine in about a hour. Installing the center bolt and placing the provided spacer INSIDE the pleneum was a little tricky, but I figured it out. OH, use vise grips to walk the spring clamps off the various hose's.

One thing I want to add. It's not just that it added more power, its the how it added more power. Basically in full on acceleration you feel more power than before at the usuall peak, but it keeps going to redline, instead of experencing as much of a drop off the last 750rpms to redline. Then when you shift, your smack dab at the rpm level where the intake pleneum effects peak power the most and it all starts over again.

I would imagine with the 25% increase in air flow and the way even the engine cover apparently no longer fits correctly that this mod would definitely void the warranty...Personally not a concern of mine but you need to make that decision on your own...

 

Crawford didn't attempt to reinstall the cover. I did and you can reinstall it. But, since you have to bend the cover down over the higher intake to get the front bolts to seat, if they have to take it off to do service, they will know somethings up. And that's assuming you were able to close the gap between the cover and the oil fill cap and it's little rubber shroud. I think I can cover up the gap with the oil fill cap with a shop piece of black 2" or so pvc pipe.
