you are getting no response because everyone has the motordyne spacer, which they all like and have no complaints about.

I would tend to agree with Wilson. I haven't read alot of positive feedback with regard to the skunk unit, if at all. Unlike with MotorDyne's products, which speak for themselves . . . As evident by all of the positive reviews on these boards.

so does anyone know the actual difference between the skunk2 and the motordyne basic plenums and why you say the skunk2 isnt that great (Andy)? I just purchased the skunk2 mainly because its a 5/8 spacer so its bigger and i got a good deal. But wondering if I should even install this and just go with a basic motordyne 1/2 spacer?

I never stated that the skunk product "isn't that great." I answered in response to wilson's post and agreed with what wilson had said . . . Which is . . . .

Actually, you just simply need to start at the top of this thread and read til where I posted.

I have the 1/2" motordyne and didnt notice much sound difference. I dont know why the skunk unit would be inferior to the MD unless the tolerances are poor. The concept is identical, just different materials. Which should favor the Skunk due to virtually zero heat transfer. Just torque it in a crossed sequence like you would a cylinder head to keep from compressing it on one end before the other end is tightened.

ok good thats what i figured and hopefully my install will go fine, it seems like its tricky torquing all the screws exactly so theres no air cracks.

In addition, if I may . . . Use a progressive sequence, as well. You may wish to initially torque down the bolts at only 30% of the final torque setting(s) and work you way up to the final setting. This will help insure that the pressure is even.
