noise in quick gas
Ive been having this noise since I installed z-tube/stillen CAI/MD 5/16 spacer.
The noise sounds like air sucking plus high pitch noise when I kick the gas hard and quick. I could hear a bit in low rpm but it's louder when Im on high RPM.
I assumed its from the compressor, but mechanic said it is pop charger noise.
Im just wonder if it's normal.
any guys have same noise like me??
Sorry I found some thread, but Im still lost tho....
sometimes better be paranoid than sorry
especially when it comes to my G.

Yup, I got the same thing once I installed my MD spacer. At first I wasnt to sure about it, but now I LOVE the sound. You can even make your car whistle at a hot girl walking down the street lol

I had it with my stock config but is much more pronounced now with the ztube and stillen cai. Yeah sounds like a whistle or a short dump of a turbo waste gate.
Any idea how to remediate this?

I get the same sound when I blip the throttle at idle. Haven't noticed it at running rpm's. I guess everything is too loud to tell, now. When I first installed the MREV+ back in October, I noticed this sound at idle with the hood propped up. It was a very pronounced quick and short sucking sound, if you will. I contacted Tony and he said that everything was fine. It seems that, at the time with my Z tube/K&N combo and the new MREV+, there was more air passing through the throttle body assembly . . . and thus the reason for the sound.

well if anything at least I ca take comfort in knowin nothing is fubar'd. I had the problem even with the stock intake system but now it is more pronounced.
Thanks for the info though guys.
I love the deep tone the setup generates though. Almost most as nice as a sensual moaning in the ear during well you know

I wonder if the MAF is acting like a whistle when the rush of air hits it. After there aftermarket MAFs. If so has anyone experienced this issue and have it go away after a swap of the MAF?
i hear the whistle...
Ive got the same setup, 5/16 mrev+, Stillen CAI, and Ztube...yea, to my it sounds like a Turbo spooling up... it is directly related to how much throttle im giving it. I thought mine at first was a leak somewhere, but i think ive retightened those bolts enough times now. Im glad some other people are hearing it too, it was driving my crazy.
Ive got a question to all you who ARE hearing the noise. When you installed the MREV+.............. In between the upper and lower plenums, where you installed the spacer.... Did everyone Reuse the OEM Gasket? I literally left it in place, and put the Spacer over it.. which would be TWO GASKETS. i thought this was right since the only other option is to cut the middle part out, lay it flat, and lay the spacer over it. i didnt want to cut it up incase i needed it. what did you guys do? Reuse it underneath (two gaskets) or somehow modify it?
