K&N Filter Part Number?
K&N Filter Part Number?
I know this has been discussed a few times already, but there still doesn't seem to be a consesus about which filter is the correct one for our car.
Is it the 33-2259 or the 33-2031-2?
Or do both fit?

Re: K&N Filter Part Number?
I believe either will fit. I installed the K&N Filter 33-2031-2 in July of last year and it works fine.
Both 33-2259 and 33-2031-2 are listed for the G35, 350Z, Maximas, Altmias, FX..... Don't know what the difference is.

Re: K&N Filter Part Number?
dont get the K&N if you're looking for performance gains
i used a drop in filter and lost 4hp and 4-5 lbs of tq. and decreased gas mileage
i dyno'd the car so its legit. i emailed K&N and they said on most cars there is improvement but on our specific cars there has not been any testing. i even said i wanted a refund and they said take it back to where i got it for a full refund
just FYI
03 G35 coupe SS (GD) 6spd everything but navi, borla exhaust
02 QX4 pearl white

Re: K&N Filter Part Number?
There is a slight difference in size. The 2031 is 1/8" thicker and 1/8" wider. I got my information from Tech at K&N. I use the 2031 and it fit fine. As far as whether it works or not, it absolutly does. I felt the difference right away (I also have a "Z" intake tube. Less restriction means low restriction whether it's on my Harly Davidson or my "G". K&N makes quality products that work.
